Homemade Eggnog


Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1 cup brandy or bourbon
  • 1/2 cups superfine sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp ground nutmeg( plus ½ tsp for dusting )
Preparation:
  1. Separate the egg yolks and put them into a large bowl and beat the egg yolks until they turn light and fluffy.
  2. Slowly add the sugar, continuing to beat the mixture until it thickens.
  3. When the sugar is added. Switch to using a wooden spoon or spatula and slowly stir in the brandy a little at a time, then cover the mixture with plastic wrap or a lid and leave in the fridge to chill for at least 3 or 4 hours.
  4. Before serving, stir the milk into the yolk mixture along with the 1 ½ tsp of ground nutmeg.
