Ingredients:
- Green mangoes 1 cup cut into small dices
- Split red gram 1 cup
- Salt use as required
- Red chili powder 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Curry leaves 1 sprig
- Garam Masala powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder 1 tsp
- Green chilies 2
- Red chilies 2
- Ginger 1 ea tsp chopped
- Ghee 2 tsp
Method:
- Wash and cook the daal (red gram)
with the salt, red chili powder and turmeric powder in a sauté use.
- Add the mango to the daal.
- Add a part of the ginger to the daal
along with the cumin powder and the Garam masala powder. Mix well.
- When the daal and the mango are
cooked remove from fire.
- Heat the ghee in a pan, add the
mustard seeds, when they crackle, add the remaining ginger & garlic paste,
curry leaves, slit green chilies and the broken red chilies.
- Fry for 2 minutes over a low flame
and pour over the daal. Serve hot.
